Potette Plus Review and Giveaway

Enter To Win A Potette Plus At Bottom of Post

My Daughter's Potette Plus

The Potette Plus has made my life with a potty trainer so much easier!  Yesterday, I did a post on My Top Ten Potty Training Products and the Potette Plus by Kalencom is my favorite product.  I can not emphasize enough how wonderful this little potty is.

Overview:
Can be used on big potty

The Potette Plus is made by Kalencom.  It can be used stand alone or used on a "big" potty.  It fits in your diaper bag or other carrying bag and comes in a variety of different colors.  IT uses disposable bags that have a pad in them that absorbs up to 5 oz of liquid.  For use as a stand alone travel potty it can be used for 15 months up to 50lbs.  For use on the "big" potty it can be used for 2 years up to 50 lbs.

My Opinion:

When I first received it my daughter was a little nervous about trying it.  She was only used to the potty she trained on, but obviously we can't carry that thing all over, and she isn't yet about sitting on the big potty.  So what were we to do.  I decided to take her other potty out of the bathroom and start training her on the Potette Plus.  I couldn't be a prisoner to the other princess potty anymore and she has to get used to going on
other potties.  You can see that we put princess stickers on her Potette Plus to make a To Go Princess Potty (look I'll Try anything!)
Folds Up Perfectly to Fit in a Diaper Bag

It is definitely a plus to have in the car for those emergencies when you can't find a bathroom or on a road trip.

Well she did very well and now she loves her "travel potty".  We took the Potette Plus to Disney World with us.  I carried it in my diaper bag and it made life so incredibly easy.  She did not even have to sit on a big potty.  I would bring it into the bathroom and she would use the small potty in the stall.  It worked out wonderfully.  I would put a piece of paper towel down on the floor because the potty is very close to floor, but it worked out great.

Many complain about buying the bags, but to me those bags are invaluable.  They keep the smell out and hold a lot of fluid.  However, if this is your only hang up on this product you can use your own grocery bags with some paper towel in them.

I recently tried out some potty liners which I personally did not like. It was the same system as the bags here for the potette plus. The pads reminded my husband (who works in a grocery store in the seafood/meat department) of what they call the diapers that go in the meat packages. You know those pads you find in meat that absorb the blood? I wonder if that's what these are like. I bet you could probably even go to your grocery store and ask what they might charge you to buy some of those from them.

And by the way, I didn't like these potty liner things because it bothered me seeing the wet pad sitting around. But for traveling I did think it would be a good idea. I just couldn't see leaving it laying around like that in the house all the time.

And then of course there was my guilt factor being a cloth diapering mom and having these little plastic garbage bags that I had to throw away just didn't seem super environmentally friendly.

But anyways, just thought I'd share in case someone found a paper towel to not be absorbent enough check with your local grocery store about what they would charge you for those things they use to pack meat and absorb the blood ;).

Eventually the baby is going to be potty training, so for the travel aspect of this that would be nice. Trying to get kids to go on potties in public, especially those ones that automatically flush is next to impossible. Those toilets always scared my kids.

Yes they are kind of like that but these aren't reusable. You just throw it out like a diaper. These are supposedly biodegradable also. I only use the bags for on the go :)

I want one because we used to have one, but lost it when we were traveling. It's really great, so I'd love to have a new one!

I want to win the Potette Plus because my son is currently potty training and I think if I had this I would feel more comfortable with him training in a public restroom - it's hard to get a toddler to hold still on a big potty without touching everything.

I love how with a bag and this potty chair your child can go potty anywhere. and when they are ready to transition to the actual toilet they can have use this on the toilet seat so that it isn't as scary an experience.
