The little girl that made me a mommy is 2 today. Well she isn't technically 2 until 5:34pm this evening, but I guess we don't go by that! She is such a special little girl, and she makes me laugh everyday. She has made my life so much more full and I can never thank her enough for that. Two years ago I became a mom and I have her to thank for that. She has the best laugh and the best smile. She is silly and gets into everything. She is a true Leo and has a definite spice for life. She truly is the best and I am thankful she picked me to be her mom.
I found out on November 18, 2008 that I was pregnant. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. I literally was shaking. It had taken my husband and I 15 months of trying and an HSG test to get pregnant. I was so thankful that I was going to be given this gift. I don't think I slept for a few weeks due to excitement.
Then the morning sickness started at around 6 weeks and well let me see I spent about 14 weeks on my bathroom floor. All I could eat was oranges. I am surprised she didn't come out an orange. That eventually passed and around 20 weeks I started to feel better and started to feel that all too familar pat pat from her kicks.
She even got to see the space shuttle take off from inside my belly.
Around 35 1/2 weeks on July 2nd I started bleeding all over my bathroom floor. I didn't wait to call an ambulace I grabbed my husband and we quickly drove to the nearest ER. Turned out that she was fine, but they never found a cause and to this day I don't know why they took the chance and let her stay in. She was already 6 pounds, and although she would have been a preemie it still scares me the amount of blood I saw on the floor and I just can't imagine nothing was wrong with my placenta.
Anyways, I recovered from that and got ready for her arrival. It was HOT. I spent much of my time in the pool. In the beginning of August my mom and my little sister arrived. We waited, and waited, and well we waited. NOTHING.
Finally at 41 weeks 2 days I started bleeding a little and I went to the hospital. I was still not dilated AT ALL...not even a fingertip people. So my Dr. gave me the options of section or inducing. I went for the section. I will explain to you why. There is a scale that they use to see if inducing will work and basically I was at 1% of it working. I had already had a major bleeding episode and basically bled off and on the rest of pregnancy and my mom never dilates either. So I chose the section and it was planned for the next day.
I woke up the next day to some more blood...and I stood up and water went down my legs. It was 102 out that day and my dr. made me go into the office to see if my water in fact did break...now remember I am having a section later on that day and I can not drink a thing...so when you think thirsty I was more than that. I started getting contractions every seven minutes and had them until I entered the hospital. We checked in at 3:30pm and I got hooked up to the IV. I was having some major back labor and could barely speak to anesthsia.
I finally walked back around 5:15pm and we heard her cry at 5:34 pm.
She was 8 pounds 4 ounces 21 3/4 long and she was stuck pretty bad against my pelvis and had a big bruise. Yup it can happen to csection babies too.
She was the cutest thing, and I fell in love with her immediately.
Thank you for making me a mommy. You are the best little girl in the world and I enjoy every moment I spend with you....even through all of the tantrums and stress. You are the best. Happy 2nd Birthday Baby Girl!
